W I N C H E S T E R
Here are my photographs
of Winchester Cathedral. There is
a fair mix of 11th & 12th century Norman,13th century early English Gothic
style and 14th & 15th perpendicular Gothic style architecture
The photographs were taken on the 20th of July 2004.
I
would only give this location 3 stars in friendliness towards photographers,
it would have easily received 5 because everyone was welcoming and they
allow you to take photos but just ask for a donation if you do so, this I don't
mind but when I was going up to the Library and balcony I was confronted by
an old woman who was incredibly rude, The very first thing she said to me as
I walked through the door was "you can't take photos up here!"
and she said it in such a condescending voice and a disgusted look on her face,
I hadn't even said anything I'd just walked up the stairs and through a doorway!!
for religious person she showed no friendliness what-so-ever and because of
that Winchester only gets 3 stars (I will say that everyone else was excellent
though)
